Magical Mayhem – Delilah’s chapter
By Princess Alexandria
Alternate Universe Story
Fox sighed heavily as she shut off the water. She was hopeless when it came to magic, as today’s ‘lesson’ proved. Pulling on the magical energy, which was unusually easy today, went well, but when she’d tried to cast the spell Puck had taught her all she got were pretty green lights and a headache. Some sort of spell was cast, but neither her nor Puck could see evidence of what she’d done. She was hoping it wasn’t too bad, since her magic had flown out of her uncontrolled and more powerful than she’d ever felt it. She grabbed the towel and started to dry off.
Delilah hesitantly opened Fox’s bedroom door. She’d left her necklace in Fox’s bathroom last night after borrowing it for a hot shower. She never got hot showers at home, because they only had cold water. She was just going to slip in and get it quietly and then head back to the Labyrinth. She’d stayed here last night, because there was no time to get home after she was done with the routine medical exam all the clones got. Her eyes widened in surprise as she opened the door to see the steamy bathroom and smell the clean scent of soap.
She stared quietly at the pale skinned woman toweling off her hair. Her eyes slowly took in the sight of the lean muscle and womanly curves of the redhead. She licked her lips as she watched the tightening of the other woman’s nipples due to Delilah letting in the cooler air of the bedroom. The sympathetic tightening of Delilah’s nipples had nothing to do with the cold. Fox was… beautiful. Why had she never noticed before?
Delilah took a small step closer to the naked woman. The gargoyle’s breathing was becoming louder. She just wanted to… touch her. Just touch her. There was nothing wrong with that, just a small touch, maybe a hug. Sure, she’d never said more than two sentences to the mistress of this castle before, but right now the need to touch was so strong. The brief green glow in Delilah’s eyes changed to red as she slowly crept closer.
Fox felt the cold air in the room and smiled as she waited for David to make his move. He liked to play games, so the fact that she didn’t hear him speak let her know that he wanted to sneak up on her. They’d done that a few weeks ago, and made love in their large master bathroom twice before moving to the bedroom for more. She continued to dry her hair, and ignoring her watching husband, but just knowing that he was staring at her, watching her ever move… Fox licked her lips and squeezed her thighs together for the delicious friction it caused. It was taking him so long to come to her. She decided to play with him some more.
Fox leaned over, bending at the waist, and spreading her legs just a little so that he would be able to see her sex as she pretended to be unaware of the audience. She continued to dry her long fiery red hair while she listened to his slight intake of breath and smirked evilly into the towel. She’d already dried her body, but certain parts of her anatomy were becoming increasingly wet again as she imagined she could feel the gaze on her freshly trimmed sex.
Delilah stared openly at the sight before her. The red hair framed the slightly glistening and completely exposed… She lightly bit her lip and moved closer, to see. She was reaching out before she even realized that she intended to touch Fox. With her talons curled in so that she didn’t hurt the human’s skin she used the back of her knuckle to lightly caress Fox. She moaned quietly as she felt the redhead tense up and felt the wetness against her talon.
“Oh God… David, yes.. Fuck me, I need it.” Fox hissed out as she dropped the towel and braced her hands on the bathroom counter. She stared down into the sink as she waited for him to thrust into her. Her red hair wild and damp fell into her face. The slow caress she felt between her legs became firmer, making her moan. He wanted to play first. Good, she liked that. Fox spread her legs further apart for better access.
Delilah’s eyes widened as she realized that Fox thought she was her husband. She should stop this, because it had to be wrong. She pulled her hand away, and prepared herself to apologize. She brought the hand she’d used to touch Fox to her face to cover her mouth as she tried to figure out what she could possibly say. Oops, I didn’t mean to rub you repeatedly there, just wasn’t going to work. The smell of Fox’s arousal on her hand made her inhale deeply, and then tentatively she licked her own hand to taste the redhead’s juices. So good… Delilah whimpered. She wanted more.
“David, don’t stop.” Fox panted out. She looked so unbelievably beautiful, her large breasts resting against the counter and her legs spread before Delilah. Delilah had seen movies. Thailog had liked to watch movies when he had used her sometimes. She never felt like more than a toy to him, but he’s taught her a few things about sex. She kneeled down between the human/fey woman’s legs and inhaled her arousal before leaning in to lick her gently. The warmth and softness of Fox tasted good. So good Delilah couldn’t get enough.
When Fox moved to try and turn around so that David would have better access, he held her hips still. A smile crossed her face as she realized he wanted to play more games. She wasn’t supposed to see him pleasure her. She closed her eyes and concentrated on the feel of the tongue gently flicking around her sex, but it never came near where she most wanted it. He couldn’t reach it in this position very well.
Delilah moaned more loudly and she leaned closer to the woman. Fox tasted so good, like a drug. A slight growl escaped her lips as she forgot to try and conceal her identity. She buried her face between Fox’s legs and licked at the ambrosia she found there.
Fox’s eyes sprang open in shock. It wasn’t David! David didn’t growl like that, and she didn’t feel the abrasive beard against her thighs or sex. She tried to look down to see who it was, her breath coming in more panicked gasps than in aroused ones. She straightened her arms and she could see the dark legs, and the blue of Delilah’s…? “Delilah!” Fox spoke loudly in shock as she tried to pull away from the hungry mouth on her. The gargoyle just pushed in closer and moaned, while holding Fox still with ease. Her gargoyle strength made it hard for Fox to pull away. When Fox felt the inhumanly long tongue pushing itself inside of her she gasped out, “What are you doing?! Let me go!”
Delilah slowly eased her tongue out of Fox with a whimper. She wanted more. She could feel the painful throbbing of her own sex, could feel her own desire wetting the crotch of her outfit. Her own nipples were painfully tight with need. Her eyes were burning red as she gently kissed Fox’s sex one last time before letting her go. She couldn’t force her, even though she wanted her so badly, she couldn’t do that. She moaned in despair as Fox quickly spun around and moved away from her. The gargoyle looked up at Fox’s incredulous gaze from her spot kneeling on the ground. “You taste so good.” Delilah panted out. She then felt like kicking herself, she should have been apologizing.
Fox stared at the mocha colored gargoyle. She could see the wetness of her own arousal on Delilah’s face, as well as the hunger in Delilah’s eyes. She watched as Delilah’s red eyes were drawn to her sex… her glistening and throbbing sex. Fox started to breath heavier, and she swallowed hard. Experimentally she spread her legs a little, and watched as Delilah licked her lips hungrily and stared. This was… unexpected. “Delilah?” Fox spoke softly.
“Fox…” Delilah’s wantonly moaning out her name started Fox’s sex throbbing again. David wouldn’t actually… mind. Fox tilted her head a little and studied the gargoyle that was staring at her with such open desire. Delilah was very attractive, and the snow-white hair over the gargoyle version of Elisa’s face was very striking.
When she first realized it was Delilah that was making love to her she’d been shocked, but now… now she was extremely excited. A gargoyle. She’d had women but she’d never had a gargoyle. With a hint of a sexy smirk on her lips, Fox sat down on the edge of the chair in her bathroom and watched Delilah’s hungry eyes as she spread her legs. “Do you want me?” Fox’s voice held a bit of a moan as she asked that. She licked her lips and ran her own finger over her swollen sex. “Do you want another taste?”
When Fox held out her finger for Delilah, the gargoyle quickly crawled closer to her. Fox gasped loudly as Delilah slowly took her finger into her mouth and sucked on it gently. “Delilah… Delilah come here.” Fox panted out as she spread her legs even further apart and scooted to the edge of the chair. “Lick me.”
Delilah leaned in to run her tongue along Fox’s sex. She rested her hands on Fox’s thighs, and gently pushed them further apart so that she had better access to the redhead. She looked up at Fox, noticing the way the millionaire stared at her. “So good.” She whispered and then gently started to suckle on Fox’s clit. This would make her wet, and Delilah liked tasting her. She kept it very gentle.
Fox dug her hands into Delilah’s soft hair and tried to pull her closer. Oh God… this was so hot. It had been so long since she’d been with anyone but David. “Yes… suck it baby. Suck it.” Fox hissed out as she started to grind herself against the gargoyle. It took little time before Fox felt the fire of release approaching. “Delilah! Oh yes… fuck me!” Fox’s voice was rising. The unexpected sudden intrusion of Delilah’s metal tipped tail into her sex sent Fox over the edge. “YES!… LIKE THAT!” Fox started to repeat frantically as the gargoyle pushed the tail in and pulled it out while suckling harder on her.
Delilah felt Fox’s body tense up and the redhead gripped Delilah’s head tightly as she came, screaming Delilah’s name. Delilah smiled wickedly, glad that she was able to please a female. She started to gently lick at Fox’s sex, trying to not let any of the redhead’s juices get away. Fox leaned back passively in the chair and caressed her hair as she cleaned the human off. Her own sex still throbbed painfully, and she wondered if she could ask for Fox to touch her. Would Fox do that, or would she just be turned away?
Fox’s body tensed a little as Delilah’s tongue brushed up against her clitoris again. She moaned softly and then moved to sit up again. She could see from the tenseness in Delilah’s body that the gargoyle was aroused. She could also see the crotch of Delilah’s outfit was dark with her wetness. Delilah was on her knees, leaning back so that Fox had room to sit up. “You need to get out of those wet clothes, and come to the bedroom.” Fox smirked sexily and watched with amusement as Delilah’s eyes widened and a joyful expression crossed the gargoyle’s face. This was going to be a night to remember. She better call David and tell him he needed to sleep in the guest room tonight, she wasn’t feeling like sharing her new lover just yet.
Delilah (Fox's) Chapter 2 –
Day After
Fox watched Delilah smile at her shyly before the sun leaked into the bedroom, turning the gargoyle to stone. That shy innocent smile was stuck on Delilah's face, in sharp contrast to the seductive beauty of her naked body. Fox got out of the bed and walked towards the bathroom. Minutes later she came out carrying a bed sheet, which she gently, carefully wrapped around Delilah and tied it, to preserve the gargoyle's modesty. David would need to come in here to change at some point.
"Well, this means I won't be making you breakfast." Fox smiled at Delilah and kissed her cheek. After she was sure that the sheet wouldn't slip she stepped back. They just barely stopped having sex long enough for Delilah to move to the window for the sun. Fox had left Delilah no time to get dressed again, so the redhead would make sure to protect the gargoyle's modesty… in spite of the pleading look she knew she'd see on David's face.
Fox caressed the warm stone cheek. "I don't know how I got this lucky, but I'm glad I did." Delilah was a wonderful lover, and making love to a gargoyle was definitely different. There were so many things that Fox hadn't known about gargoyle anatomy, interesting and pleasurable things. She moved away to get at least a few hours of sleep. It took a few minutes to untangle the mass of bedding that was tangled on the floor.
Fox came out from her morning shower, since she still smelled of sex, and noticed David standing in front of Delilah, staring at her. "Hands off mister." She smiled at him. He'd taken her request for him to sleep elsewhere very well. He pulled her into a breathtaking kiss, and then held her tight while looking down into her blue eyes.
"How'd you end up with her?" He smiled, showing that he wasn't upset with the odd turn of events.
A wicked smile crossed Fox's lips, "I mistook her for you." She enjoyed his eyes getting slightly wider. She glanced over his shoulder at Delilah. The gargoyle was purely feminine, while David was very much a man. She could see where that might confuse her husband.
"I saw a few interesting things last night." David's eyes appear to sparkle, which was how Fox knew he had some new gossip that he was dying to tell her. Unfortunately Alexander chose that moment to knock. David actually looked disappointed as Fox moved to let their son in the room. It must be some really good gossip. She smiled at him in sympathy and took Alexander's hand to go to breakfast.
Fox stared after Elisa and Owen as they left the dining room. The detective's anger was very clear, and Fox had no idea what this was about. Normally it would be David that Elisa called out of the room to question about this or that allegation. No matter how many times David proved that he wasn't a criminal anymore, Elisa still came by to accuse him of something on a regular basis. This was the first time Elisa bypassed David and went for Owen.
"I'm just gonna go outside." Beth spoke quietly, and Fox turned her eyes away from the doorway to her. Beth sounded so… broken. That wasn't like that woman at all. What was going on?
"Do you know what this is about?" David gave voice to what Fox was puzzling over, "Why would the detective be pulling Owen out of the room?"
"I'm gonna go outside." Beth wasn't looking at any of them. Fox got the feeling that something was really wrong. She watched Elisa's sister walk out of the room while studying her own feet.
"David, will you stay here and watch Alexander?" Fox stood up, assuming his yes. She wasn't dressed to go outside and follow Beth now. She needed to go get changed. She knew she wasn't really a close friend of Beth's, but it was so painfully obvious that Beth needed someone, and her sister was busy playing cop.
Fox had just gotten some clothes on and was about to quickly run a brush through her hair when the phone rang. She checked the caller id before bothering to pick it up, and was surprised to see it was Owen's office. Maybe she was going to find out what this visit was about.
"Mrs. Xanatos." Owen's voice sounded a bit tenser than normal. Most people couldn’t pick that up, but he was like a member of her family. She was able to decipher the slight changes in tone and body language.
"Owen, what's wrong?" Fox's voice carried her concern. She hated being in the dark about things.
Fox stepped into the office and could actually feel the tension in the air. She still hadn't any idea why they called her in here. She hadn't been up to anything shady lately. She noticed Elisa staring at her and gave her a smile. "Elisa." She could see that something was making Elisa very uncomfortable, and that was unusual. That detective was usually so good about keeping things professional. Fox turned to Owen, "What's going on?"
"It seems the Maza's had a spell cast on them yesterday." Owen's words started Fox's heart pounding. What did she do? That spell that her and Owen had assumed was harmless or unnoticeable obviously did something. Was that what was upsetting Beth?
She took a deep breath and decided to face this head on. "What did it do?"
Fox felt sick as she listened to Elisa talk. Part of her enjoyed hearing about the detective's night, and she was ashamed of that, knowing what trouble that night was going to cause Elisa. Her spell wasn't supposed to do… this. Delilah? Delilah had to have been caught in it too, and Fox had spent the entire night taking advantage of her.
Elisa's angry voice startled Fox out of her thoughts, "You did this didn't you?" Fox turned her eyes to Elisa and could see the detective was pissed. "Why were you casting spells on us?!" Fox stood still as Elisa took a menacing step towards her.
Fox spoke quickly, "I wasn't… I don't know how it ended up…" Fox took a deep breath and her voice regained it's normal register, rather than the more high pitched tone it had taken. "I was trying to make flowers grow… that was all I was trying to do. To make the flowers grow together, and make new types of flowers. I don't know how this happened." She clearly remembered sitting on the floor surrounded by a dozen different types of potted plants. She had sets of two set out in a circle around her and she was trying to merge them all at once, to make six new kinds of flowers. How the hell could a damned flower spell do this?!
"We
should check and see what the spell did, and if it has dissipated." Owen's calm voice
cut through the tension in the room.
As soon as the spell was done and Owen had the information he needed, Fox left the room. Elisa was still recovering, because Fox had misspoken the simple spell, and made her sick. She really wished that Owen didn't have that damned clause on his magic now. At least they found out that the spell was gone now. She just wanted to see if Beth was still affected. She walked outside onto the castle walls. She stopped and watched the woman staring at Goliath. Beth looked very cold, yet she was making no motion to come inside.
Fox took a deep breath and stepped out of the shadow. "It's a little too cold out here to stay this long." She spoke gently, noticing how pale and depressed Beth looked. This spell was not on her anymore, but it had obviously hurt her in some way. "Why don't you come in?"
"Where's Angela?" Beth asked quietly.
"Owen said she called. She's spending the day somewhere else." Fox stepped closer. Beth was making no motion to come in out of the cold. The wind up this high made it colder and unhealthy to stay out here this long. Beth looked so lost, and it made Fox feel even more guilt. She had started to like Elisa, and her magic caused the detective and her family problems. "It was a spell… but it wasn't supposed to do that." Fox spoke quietly while staring down at the stone floor. "I was learning a new spell. It didn't work… I had no idea..." Fox felt her tears traveling down her cold cheeks.
"A spell did
this?" Beth's voice was quiet. Fox was surprised when the woman took a
menacing step towards her. Beth never
seemed like a fighter before, and Fox knew how to spot those. Beth screamed out something that made Fox
feel like she'd been kicked in the stomach.
"I RAPED her! I raped my
sister in law, and your telling me this was some sort
of fucking spell! How the hell am I suppose to face my brother? How am I ever gonna
make this up to her?!" Fox stood
there in shock, and didn't even think to block the arm that darted out at her,
connecting with a painful sting on her cheek.
Fox just held her face to the side, where it had stopped from the force
of the slap, without reaching up to touch the reddening cheek. She could see that Beth was considering
hitting her again, and Fox found herself unwilling to
defend herself from it. She was a
skilled fighter, and Beth wouldn't have ever made contact if Fox hadn't felt
she deserved it. This spell was worse
than she'd originally thought, if it could turn a gentle woman like Beth into a
rapist. This was going to tear the Maza family apart.
She was staring at Beth, and couldn't think of any thing she could
possible say to apologize for this.
"Tell Elisa I left."
Beth hissed out and turned to leave.
Fox just let her go and turned tearful eyes out to the city.
Fox relayed Beth's message about ten minutes later. After Elisa ran out after her sister she moved to sit beside the place that normally held the female gargoyle. "Oh God, Angela… please be okay." Fox whispered. She sat out in the cold a few more minutes, before she decided that she had to know if Angela was okay. She had to find her.
While Owen worked on tracing the phone call they got from Angela, Fox finished working on getting ready for the day. She brushed out her hair mechanically and when she stared into the mirror, her eyes remained glued to the angry red handprint over her cheek, under her tattooed eye. She glanced at her concealer for a moment, and then just decided to go without makeup at all today. There was no hiding that, no covering that up.
The light knock on the door drew her attention. David slowly opened the door and the look of concern on his face said it all. He'd heard. He moved across the room quickly and pulled her into a comforting hug. Fox clung to him tightly. He was always her rock when she needed one. Her voice was tearful, "I really screwed up David."
"It was an accident. They'll all realize that eventually." David spoke softly while caressing her back. His words of comfort weren't helping. It wasn't that they were mad at her. She'd hurt people. People she'd considered friends. She didn't have many real friends, and now… she'd managed to screw up the lives of the few that she did have. She took a deep breath and stepped back out of her husbands embrace. She still had work to do.
Fox marched into Owen's office with a purposeful stride and a determined look in her eyes. "So where is she?"
"I've got the number. It's unlisted, so I'm still working on figuring out where it is." He barely looked up from his computer. Fox marched around behind him and studied the number. She then reached over to his desk and picked up the phone. It could take him hours to find this number. She didn't acknowledge the irritated look on his face as she dialed.
"Hello?" The irritated sounding familiar voice made Fox sag in relief.
"Demona?"
There was a moment of quiet, "Why are you calling?!" Demona sounded angry, and defensive.
Fox took a breath, "I just wanted to verify that Angela is with you." Her tone was all business, as if asking if Demona had received a letter. In truth her heart was pounding. She desperately hoped that Angela was at Demona's still.
"That is none of your business!" The suspicion in Demona's voice seemed overkill for the simple question.
"I just need to know if she's safe. You can keep her for the day, I don't care. Is she okay?"
The silence was brief, but when Demona spoke, the woman wasn't as angry sounding. "Angela is fine. She might be home late tonight."
Fox felt some of the tension melt out of her shoulders, and a small smile of relief crossed her face. "Thank you." She hung up before Demona decided to insult her for calling at all, or before she asked why Fox was so concerned. The fewer people that knew about this spell the better, and Demona was a very bad choice to confide in.
She didn’t even look over at Owen when she spoke. "How did this happen?"
"I'm not really sure."
Fox watched the security footage from the time that she was casting the spell. She watched the hall outside of the room she had worked from and saw the Maza's walk passed talking. She saw that there was also a janitor on the floor. She rewound the tape repeatedly, watching the slightly green glowing light from under the door, and the one brief moment that Beth looked up at the security camera with green eyes.
Fox picked up a phone in the surveillance room. "Owen, there was a janitor working in the area. We need to get her name and check on her."
"I'll get to work on that right away." The phone went dead, and Fox slowly reset it in the cradle.
David came in and sat down in the other chair, looking at her with those concerned eyes. "I can see how it affected the Maza's, but I still don't know how it got to Delilah."
David took a deep breath. "I saw Beth kiss Delilah during the day." Fox gritted her teeth and glared down at the keyboard in front of her. She was mad, but she was the one to blame. David fidgeted a bit in his seat, so Fox looked back up at him. He looked really reluctant to say anything. "I also saw Elisa kiss Angela later that night."
Fox stared at him, "But Angela's not affected."
"How do you know?"
"I called. She's at Demona's." Fox looked back at the moment that the spell went wrong on the screen, and didn't see David's eyes widening, and the grimace on his face.
"Well, that's lucky then." David said quietly, but he had a really uneasy feeling about that. No one else was spared from the spell. He got up and left, after kissing Fox gently on the forehead. She barely acknowledged him as she hunted to make sure that no one else was affected. He really didn't want to worry her with his theory. Maybe he was wrong… and Angela wasn't affected.
Fox had the security guard at the front desk call her when Elisa walked into the building. She went out to the castle wall, knowing that Elisa was just standing there. When she saw the concerned look on Elisa's face, she stepped out of her hiding space and spoke. "We've traced her call. She's at Demona's." Elisa's tensing up at her voice hurt. She spoke more softly. "How did things go with Robyn?" She really hoped that Robyn took it well, and didn't do anything to hurt Elisa anymore than she was already hurting.
"She took it very well. She had to go though, because Jon is…" Elisa sighed, "Jon is sending his Quarrymen against her. She had to make plans."
"If she needs any help with that, she can come to David or I." Fox spoke a little more quickly. Maybe there was a way that she could at least make this up to some of the victims of her spell.
"If I see her again, I'll let her know." Elisa said absently. Fox noticed the sadness in Elisa's eyes, and realized that things between Elisa and Robyn were more complicated than she'd originally been told. She didn't know what to say, so she stood there and said nothing for a while.
Fox glanced out at the sun and realized that it was almost time. "I should go. I have to explain this to Delilah. I… I really liked her… Dammit!" Fox wrapped her arms around her body and turned to leave. She didn’t actually know Delilah very well. They'd almost never talked before last night. She had no idea how the gargoyle was going to react to this.
Fox laid out Delilah's clothes neatly on the bed and gently removed the sheet from her body, so that the gargoyle wouldn't destroy it as she woke up. She gave Delilah's body one last longing look and went to put away the sheet. David promised that they could have this room to talk as long as they needed.
Fox stood nervously waiting for Delilah to finish getting dressed before telling her. The gargoyle had smiled warmly at her after she was free from her stone, and it made Fox's heart ache. Hopefully that affection in Delilah's eyes would survive this.
Delilah watched Fox pacing with puzzlement on her face. What was wrong. The handprint on the human's face had alarmed her as soon as she'd noticed it. Was it related? She'd asked, fully intending to find whoever thought they could hurt her human and teach them that they were very wrong, but Fox brushed her concerns aside, claiming it was nothing. Delilah kept finding her eyes traveling to the redness on Fox's cheek. The print was too small to be Xanatos, and that made her feel a little better. She'd hate for him to be hurting Fox like Thailog had hurt her.
Delilah was quiet during the entire quickly blurted out explanation about the spell. She could see how tense Fox was as she told her this. Delilah didn’t see that it made any difference. Fox was acting like she'd done something really wrong, and seemed so very apologetic, but Fox had never once hit her. Fox didn't hurt her, or force her to do things that hurt or made her feel bad. Fox had been tender, and had cared about Delilah's pleasure. The human had treated Delilah like a person with feelings. Thailog had never treated her like that.
Delilah got up from her seat on the bed and walked up to Fox. She could see Fox flinch, and it was a shock to realize that Fox thought Delilah might hurt her. She moved behind Fox and wrapped her arms around Fox's waist. "I don't care." She whispered gently into Fox's ear. "You are the best thing to ever happen to me and I don't care how it happened."
Fox's eyes went wide and Delilah watched as Fox spun around in her arms and stared at her. "I put a spell on you that MADE you want a woman. The only reason that you even touched me was because of that." Fox's voice got quieter as she stared into Delilah's eyes. "How can you still want… after what I did?"
"I do." Delilah let Fox pull away from her embrace and start her pacing again. Delilah realized that Fox needed to hear more than that. Her voice got quieter, "I'm not really very popular. No one else wants me after what Thailog…" Delilah's voice trailed off. She'd heard the comments that the others had made about her. She was considered the whore. No one seemed to realize that 'The Master' hadn't given her any choice in the matter. That she hated his touch, but he had… touched her often. He was a cruel master, and the other clones never had to see that part of him. He'd save all of that for her. Now she had a nice, kind lover, and she didn’t want to lose her.
Fox stopped her pacing and turned to look at Delilah. She could see the pain in her eyes as she said that bastard's name. She waited quietly for Delilah to continue. She'd never really met Goliath's clone, but the stories she'd heard weren't very good. Delilah looked up at her with her vulnerable eyes, "I like you. You're nice. I want to be with you."
Fox moved closer and held Delilah. This was probably another mistake, but she was keeping Delilah as a lover.
Fox watched Delilah glide off towards her home. The clone was planning to be back on Wednesday, and had made a big deal of asking for a date that night. It had the feel of something Fox had seen on T.V. and that was probably where Delilah had learned about dating.
Fox sighed as Delilah's sillohuette faded from view, and turned to go back inside. She was tired, but she wasn't going to bed until she talked with Angela. She wished she'd asked Demona to send the girl right home when she woke up, but Demona would have probably done the exact opposite if she'd asked for that.
Fox knew that there was no way that Goliath knew about these visits Angela did with Demona, but he would soon. Elisa wasn't likely to not mention it. Fox couldn't help but feel that the clan was wrong in the way they were dealing with Demona. The blue female cared for her daughter, and Fox knew all to well how the love of a child could change a woman. When she had Alexander, she started to make a real effort to become someone that he could be proud of. She started trying to help the clan, and other people. She started giving a damn if the world was a good place to live, because her baby boy was going to have to live in it.
When she walked past the library she glanced in and saw
Elisa sitting on the couch watching T.V. with
"I'm waiting to talk with Angela." Elisa glanced out the door, towards the sky. Goliath had fled.
"Well, if you want to visit, you know how to find me." Fox smiled weakly, and left the room.
She was walking towards her living room when Owen stepping out of a room and fell into step beside her. "That janitor didn't work for us. There is no record of any maintenance people working yesterday."
Fox turned to look at him briefly. "You're sure?"
"Positive."
Fox's lips thinned at the thought that someone had gotten that close to them. The security in this place was supposed to be iron tight. They had too many enemies for it to be any less. "Any good security footage of her?"
"I'm compiling it all now. It will be ready in the morning."
"Call me when it's ready." Fox's voice took on the dangerous edge it always had before a battle. That woman had managed to get on the same floor as her family, and the clan that her and David had sworn to protect during the day. That was never going to happen again!
Fox laid down for a brief nap in her living room. David was getting ready to really go to bed, but she was staying dressed. Owen was going to stay up all night to compile the video footage, so he offered to call her and let her know when Angela got home. Demona had sounded like she wanted to keep the girl much of the night, so it could be a quite a few more hours before Angela returned.
Owen called a few hours later, and Fox left her living quarters to head towards the library that the gargoyles all tended to gather in. She got there a little too late, and she watched as Elisa led Angela into another room to talk. Fox sighed, and pretended to be looking for a book. The room had most of the clan in it, except for Goliath, who hadn't returned yet. They still had a few hours of night left, so hopefully he was planning on coming home.
Elisa left and Fox noticed that the detective's spirits were a little higher than when she went in. They hadn't been talking long. Angela came out of the room and glanced at Elisa's back as she left for home, without waiting for Goliath's return. Of course, knowing Goliath, he might actually be waiting at Elisa's apartment for a private talk.
Angela turned and stared at Fox with an unreadable expression on her face. Fox watched the gargoyle make no motion to come talk to her, while she did that.
Broadway broke the spell, by coming out of the kitchen with a large sandwich. Fox noticed Angela shudder at that and look away. Fox's eyes widened as she realized that there was definitely trouble in paradise. Fox watched the gentle male put his sandwich down and approach Angela.
"Angela, are you alright? Where were you last night?" Broadway moved to pull the female into a hug, and Angela stepped to the side to avoid it. It might have looked like poor timing, but Fox was watching carefully. Angela didn’t want him to hug her.
"Look, I'm fine. Everyone else is allowed to spend a day away once in a while. It's no big deal." Angela snapped at him. Fox knew that the female was trying to not tell them about her visiting her mother.
"I was worried." Broadway sounded hurt, and his shoulders drooped.
Angela's voice got softer, "I know." Fox watched Angela take a step back, asserting more personal space. "I just need some space. I can't be…" Angela looked at a loss for words. If Fox weren't eavesdropping so hard she wouldn't have noticed the scene going on in the corner. No one else did. Fox knew what it was long before Broadway figured it out. She'd given this speech a few times. Angela was breaking up with him.
Fox grabbed the nearest book and left quietly. Tonight wasn't going to be a good night for her to talk with Angela. She imagined that breaking up with Broadway would take a very long time. She'd seen hints before that Angela was thinking about doing this, so it probably had nothing to do with the spell. She glanced down at the book she snagged blindly off the shelf and grimaced at the title, "A Midsummer Nights Dream" By William Shakespeare.
