Elisa was grinding her teeth as she pulled out of the underground garage. That was unbelievably embarrassing! Why did she do that? Kissing Angela like that had been… very nice, but it was so wrong. She was practically the girl's stepmother! So of course there had to be witnesses to it. Elisa sighed heavily as she waited for the light to change. Part of her was grateful that Angela and her had been interrupted. As it was, this was going to be awkward to get over. At the time, she wouldn't have stopped, and Angela wasn't stopping her. It wasn't like her to do something like that.
She'd been with a woman before, in college. It had been nice, but she'd never really sought out any other women before. She was happy with Goliath… so why did she do that? Elisa sighed heavily as she felt the throbbing of her sex become more insistent. She hadn't been able to calm down since it happened. It was only a kiss, but… she still felt…
"Angela. Why the hell did it have to be Angela?" Elisa growled to herself.
She noticed a blonde woman walking along the sidewalk, and the confident stride caught her attention. It couldn't be her… she was in prison. Still, she walked just like her. When the blonde turned and went into the dance club, Elisa stared at the door, while biting her lip. She was off duty, but she had to investigate. She could have sworn it was her.
Elisa unzipped her jacket as she stepped into the club. It was warm and crowded inside. She looked around the crowd, with several people dressed up for a bar Halloween party. At least they weren't all dressed up. She didn't stick out too badly. She moved through the crowd around the dance floor carefully, while looking for the blonde. The dance floor was crowded so badly that there was hardly any room for the dancers to move. They gyrated to the extremely loud sounds of drums as Rob Zombie's Dragula played. It was appropriate for the Halloween night, but Elisa hoped that she wouldn't have to stay long, because the music was already starting to give her a headache. Elisa didn't try to go out into that mass of people to see if the woman she was following was there. She just inventoried the mass and found it lacking the woman she'd followed inside. She then began to systematically glance around the large club, at the bar, and then the booths along the other wall. That's were she saw a hint of nearly white blonde hair
Robyn gave the table a thin fake smile as she sat down. "So, what is it you wanted?" Her voice held steel. Her brother, Jon, and three of his new goon squad were seated and drinking beer. She was surprised to hear from Jon, since he'd never once contacted her while she was in prison. She'd been locked up for three years and no word from this brother. He was too busy with his new identity, and his steadily growing obsession with killing gargoyles. An obsession that she used to share but didn't anymore.
"I thought that you might like to join me. Things with the Quarrymen are beginning to take off. I might even run for Mayor next term." Jon gave her his most fake and political smile. She didn't fall for it. If he was just trying to recruit her, he could have done that over the phone, or come to the hotel room. He brought his goons for a reason, and it made her sick to realize that her own brother was that far gone that he was going after her. This was just a pre-hunt taunting… she came from the same family. She knew all the same tricks.
Robyn's voice became deeper, and her eyes narrowed at her brother, "I'm sorry, but I have other plans. Jail wasn't pleasant, I won't be going back." She glanced meaningfully at the Quarrymen watching her in silence and then back at Jon, "I'm out Jon… just out. I won't be hunting again."
She watched his face become red with anger. He was always the gentler one, but that had obviously changed. His hissing at her was full of venom, "You are a hunter. You were born to hunt, and you think you can just stop! You had a bad time in jail… so what! This is our heritage… that Demon is still out there, as well as the rest of her dirty race."
Robyn's eyes narrowed as she stared at him. He was just like their father had been. She had never really bought into the idea that ALL gargoyles deserved to die. "You have your little KKK clan, you don't need me."
Elisa's eyes widened a little at the way Robyn glared at Castaway. She'd figured out a long time ago who he was, but Robyn wasn't being friendly to her brother. She wished that she could hear what was being said, but in this noisy, crowded place, she was lucky to get to see them. She watched as Robyn angrily stood up and turned to leave. Her eyes trailed over the blonde's lithe body distractedly, before she pulled her eyes back to the table. The look that Castaway gave the three strong, rough, looking men at the table said it all. Robyn was in trouble. She watched as the three men got up and started towards the back door that Robyn was heading for.
Elisa didn’t even need to think about it, she was carefully weaving her way through the busy dance floor in an effort to follow. It looked like the Canmore family split was much more serious than she'd thought. Jon had sent those men out to hurt his sister. Robyn was a hunter, and might be able to deal with it on her own, but Elisa was a cop… and couldn't just look the other way. She felt like growling, as the dancing masses that she found herself in the middle of seemed to move into her way with every turn she made.
Robyn pushed open the back door and was grateful for the cool air on her skin. Jon… she couldn't believe that Jon was going to do this to her. She was hardly dressed for the fight she knew was coming. She was wearing a short black skirt and a black silk shell under her long leather coat. She wasn't even packing a gun, since she hadn't been out of prison long enough to acquire one illegally, and couldn't get one legally anymore. A record made gun sellers leery of selling to her. She walked further into the alley, away from the door, looking for anything she could use. She knew the way Jon worked. The backdoor was more deserted, but the front door would have been covered more fully by his Quarrymen. She had hoped that this alley would have an exit, but the only way out was towards the front of the club. Dammit… she needed a gun! Even with this silent tirade, she walked with a confidence trained into her from birth. She was a hunter, and she'd find a way. These Quarrymen were little more than organized thugs… they were not a match for a hunter, even as out of practice as she was. As long as Jon didn't come outside, she would be fine. She didn’t think he would, this felt like a warning, not a real threat, not yet at least.
Elisa gritted her teeth at the sounds of fighting as she pushed open the back door. She stepped around a man unconscious on the ground and fought a grin. Robyn did good work. She found Robyn standing very unladylike with her legs spread in a fighting stance, surrounded by the other two men, who appeared to be armed with knives. Robyn moved with a beautiful, dangerous grace. Elisa had the feeling that the blonde wasn't really in any danger at all. Still, she slowly pulled out her gun and projected her most authoritative voice. "Police, Freeze!"
She saw Robyn give her a glance, but she stayed battle ready. Elisa didn't indicate she should do anything differently. It was the Quarrymen that needed to be subdued. When one of the men turned to look at her, Robyn sent a very high kick to his head, knocking him to the ground. The other man lunged forward at Robyn with the knife, and Elisa squeezed the trigger, sending a warning shot into the air. She made sure the airspace wasn't occupied first. The sound of the shot rang through the narrow alley, making it sound deadly.
The other man stopped moving, but Robyn kicked him down anyhow. "Why'd you do that?! I had him surrendering!" Elisa barked out.
"They aren't alone." Robyn's matter of fact, calm acceptance of that was eerie. There was just something… not quite human, about the hunter right now. "The entrance of the club has to be covered. Jon would have them waiting, knowing this wasn't a challenge." Robyn bent down and took the knives from the men's hands, making Elisa feel the need to raise her gun on the woman, but she held that urge down. She could believe that Robyn knew what she was talking about.
Robyn glanced over at the detective quietly driving. The dark skinned woman was a surprise tonight. The hunter pressed the cloth more firmly to the cut on her arm. She and Elisa had to battle their way out of the alley, and into Elisa's car. Jon had five men waiting for her near the entrance of the alley. She'd really felt how rusty prison made her then. It was Elisa that kept that cut on Robyn's arm from being something much more serious, because she attacked the thug that was aiming for something much more vital on Robyn. Those men meant business… her brother, meant business. Robyn turned her glare out the side window. She felt so betrayed. She spoke to the detective without ever looking at her, "I can't go to the hospital. Fighting violates my parole."
Elisa glanced over to Robyn. She'd been paroled? "It wasn't your fault. It was self defense, and I can vouch for that."
Robyn took a deep breath, "Jon's my little brother. I'd have to… turn him in for this if I went to the police." She tried to casually brush the tears from her eyes so the detective wouldn't see. Her voice remained steady and strong. "He may have lost his honor… but I still have mine. This is a family matter, I don't need to bring the police into it." She forced her thoughts away from memories of training with her brothers, about teaching Jon how to track in the woods… about Jon at all.
Elisa unlocked the door to her apartment. She didn't feel comfortable bringing Robyn here, but the hunter's hotel room wouldn't be secure. That was where Jon had sent the invitation for Robyn to meet him. She watched the tall, beautiful, dangerous woman walk into her apartment in front of her with such grace and strength. She found her eyes caressing the hunter's body while she licked her lips and imagined caressing those cheekbones that gave the blonde her model good looks while she leaned in to kiss… what was wrong with her?! Elisa tried to shake off that thought as she closed and locked the door behind them.
Robyn carefully started to remove her ruined leather jacket. She looked into the mirror to see the damage. With the wet washcloth she wiped away the dried blood and found that it wasn't that bad. The thug had managed to slice her upper arm, but it didn't look deep. She wouldn't be able to wear sleeveless shirts for a while, but it would heal alright. She was looking in the mirror when she noticed the detective standing in the doorway, obviously thinking that she was out of sight.
The hunger in Detective Maza's eyes surprised her, but she didn’t let it show. She knew she was attractive… hell, she'd just spent years in prison, making sure that none of the women in there thought she was a push over, because her good looks made her a popular target. It took several fights out of the guards view before the sexual harassment stopped. That was when the weaker women started to try and gain her favor, but she stayed out of that scene. She didn't want a prison romance.
Elisa leaned against the doorway, holding her first aid kit in one hand, just watching Robyn. Watching the play of toned muscled under smooth, pale skin as the hunter moved to inspect the wound in the mirror. She felt that same rush that she'd gotten earlier that night while watching Angela… and was just as helpless to it. "I brought the first aid kit. Do you need help?"
"You have butterflies?" Robyn asked casually. Elisa moved into the bathroom, since that served as an invitation. Setting the case down on the counter she pulled the bandages out and studied the cut. It wasn't as bad as she'd feared when she saw Robyn trying to stop the bleeding in her car.
"Yes. I'll get this for you." Elisa focused her attention of the small patch of injured flesh, because the rest of the woman was too distracting. As she put the bandaids on carefully, she couldn't help but notice how soft the hunter's skin was. With her eyes focused on the wound, Robyn didn't see the flash of green in their depths as Elisa stared and lightly caressed the arm, before pulling her arm away self-consciously. "It looks like it'll be alright."
Robyn could see the hunger in Elisa's eyes that the detective seemed to be trying to fight. She noticed the full lips, the dark lust filled eyes, and she found herself liking the fact that the law and order detective was attracted to her. Thinking about Elisa gave her a break from thinking about Jon and the problems she was having with him. She welcomed the distraction. "If you plan to fuck me, you need to take some of those clothes off." Robyn smirked as Elisa blushed and the detective's eyes widened in shock.
"I… I am not interested." Elisa spoke quickly and stepped away from Robyn. Her heart was pounding in a bit of fear. She was lying, she was very interested… and there was something not quite right about that. It didn't feel… normal. Not the being attracted to Robyn part, she'd appreciated Robyn's beauty back when she'd first met her… no, it was the intensity of the feelings. Something felt off about it.
Robyn smirked into the mirror at Elisa before spinning around and moving close to Elisa, forcing the detective against the bathroom wall. "Too bad… because I would have done it." Robyn let her eyes travel up and down Elisa's body obviously, "I would definitely have done it." She then took a step back and marched out of the bathroom like she belonged in the apartment.
Elisa swallowed back her urge to chase after Robyn and see if she really meant that comment. She glanced at her reflection in the mirror, and ran her hand through her hair before following the hunter into the kitchen.
Robyn leaned against the counter while drinking the glass of juice she'd poured for herself. She could see by the slightly irritated look on the detective's face that Elisa didn't appreciate how comfortable she was making herself in the dark skinned woman's home. Robyn didn't really care. She had no where to go tonight.
During the late dinner that they had, Robyn noticed the way that Elisa's hands would shake when she tried to take a drink of her juice. It was a bit concerning. Cops didn't have shaky arms like that. She noticed the predatory look in Elisa's eyes while she stared at her as well. What was going on? She wasn't even vamping it up to drive the detective crazy, but it looked like Elisa was barely keeping herself from throwing herself at Robyn.
"Do you have a place to stay? Somewhere I could take you?" Elisa's voice was huskier than she'd prefer. She felt hot, shaky, and she couldn't stop herself from imagining touching that pale skin, sliding her hands over those tone muscles and making Robyn scream in pleasure. She needed to get the hunter away from her… because something was definitely wrong with her. It felt like… magic. That would explain her reaction to Angela earlier… and this overwhelming desire for the hunter in front of her now. What did Puck do to her now?! Why?
"No, I don't have anyplace." Robyn's reply made Elisa's heart jump. Robyn looked at her with concern in her beautiful blue eyes, "Are you okay?" Elisa watched as Robyn reached over the table and put her hand on Elisa's. Elisa's eyes quickly turned to Robyn's face, and she saw the green glow moments before the hunter moved, standing up so quickly the chair Robyn was sitting on fell back to the ground.
Elisa was startled to find herself pressed against the wall so fast she could hardly blink before it happened. Robyn's body was pressed firmly against her own, with Robyn holding Elisa's shoulders to the wall. "It's been so long…" Robyn moaned out as she leaned in to kiss Elisa with a savage hunger. Elisa wrapped her arms around Robyn, pulling her closer, kissing her desperately. Oh God… she knew this was a spell, some sort of spell, but she needed Robyn so badly! She started to unbutton Robyn's top, since the buttons were on the back, but gave up in her impatience and ripped the shirt open to caress the smooth, strong back. She could hear the buttons bouncing off of the walls, and the floor. She reached to undo the bra, but there was no clasp in the back. She moaned into the kiss before moving to trail hungry kisses and nibbles to Robyn's neck. Robyn moaned, sending Elisa's desire even higher, "God… Detective…"
Elisa pulled back just enough to talk, "My name is Elisa… please… not Detective now." That just reminded her that this was an ex-con she was kissing, a woman that tried to kill her clan. She pushed Robyn, spinning her so that she was pressing against the blonde, with Robyn's back to the wall. Her breath was coming in ragged gasps already. "I've wanted to do this since I first saw you." She groaned at she felt the blonde's hands slide under her shirt to caress her back, lightly running her fingernails over Elisa's skin. "So sexy… you are so unbelievably sexy." Elisa pulled back enough to pull Robyn's shirt off of her and toss it to the side, not caring where it landed. It was ruined anyhow. She felt no resistance as she quickly, deftly, undid Robyn's bra, exposing those perk, pale, breasts to the air, and her eyes.
Robyn head fell back against the wall as the warm wet mouth started to suckle at her breasts. This was the detective she'd thought was so repressed? Oh, God… this was so good. She moaned loudly as her arms wrapped around Elisa to pull her closer. The sucking was sending fiery threads of desire throughout her entire body. Her breath caught in her throat as she felt Elisa's hand move to cup Robyn's sex, gently caressing her through her underwear. Robyn found herself whimpering with each pass of those teasing fingers over her sex.
Robyn pushed Elisa back and grabbed the edges of the detective's black t-shirt, to pull it over Elisa's head. It joined Robyn's shirt on the ground, followed quickly by the bra. Robyn slowly ran her fingers over Elisa's firm petite breasts. It had been years… and she wished she could slow down, and savor this… but her need was too strong. She pulled Elisa tightly to her body, and the feel of warm flesh, the feel of Elisa's tight nipples pressed firmly to her body, made her never want to let go.
After Robyn pulled away from the passionate kiss, Elisa felt her heart quicken as she felt the gentle kisses trailing down her body. "I have a bedroom." Elisa groaned out as Robyn's lips captured her nipple. She couldn't stand through sex. Her legs already felt weak.
Elisa tossed her pants into the corner and crawled onto her bed, her eyes burning into Robyn, who was already waiting for her. Robyn smirked at her and spread her legs in a silent invitation. The neatly trimmed blondeness was clear evidence that Robyn was a natural blonde. Elisa leaned down to kiss, and then gently lick at Robyn's sex. The gasp of surprise Robyn gave out made Elisa grin. There was nothing that Robyn could suggest that she hadn't done at least once. She knew people assumed she was practically a virgin, with little knowledge of sex. That wasn't true… it had just been… a while since she'd done these things. She forced the worry about this spell out of her mind and moved to devour the blonde laid out for her pleasure.
White glowing eyes stared into the bedroom window in shock. Lex's mouth hung open a little as he watched Elisa move to start licking Robyn Canmore between her legs. Elisa was having sex with the hunter… and Lex didn't blink once as he sat down on the balcony to watch, in complete shock. His hand trailed under his loincloth, and he slowly started to caress his now completely hardened shaft. He had never seen anything this sexy… and he knew he was invading Elisa's privacy, but he couldn't look away. He watched Elisa's firm toned ass raised into the air, and could see the plump, swollen and glistening sex. He licked his lips and started to move his hand more swiftly over his shaft, while imagining himself walking into the room and planting it inside Elisa's heated core.
"Elisa… move… over me." Robyn panted out. Elisa's tongue was far more talented than she'd expected, and the feeling of need… grew with each teasing stroke Elisa used. She wasn't surprised anymore when Elisa understood her and moved to straddle her head, while leaning down to continue going down on her. The feel of Elisa's weight on top of her, the smell of Elisa's arousal… God, she didn't remember ever wanting a lover like this. For a moment Robyn just stared at Elisa's sex, the detective's pubic hair was trimmed in an artistic strip of curly black hair. Robyn reached up and pulled Elisa down to her, and started to suckle very gently on Elisa's clit.
Elisa moaned into Robyn's sex at the first touch of a wet, warm mouth on her sex. The hunter lapped at her sex lightly, teasingly. Oh God… she'd missed this. Goliath was so old fashioned about sex, since he was actually from the 10th century. When Elisa had asked him to do this for her once, he'd looked so shocked and disgusted… she never brought it up again. Oh God.. it felt so nice. She loved Robyn's… mouth.
Robyn could feel the detective's body tense up at the first touch of Robyn's mouth to her sex, but then Elisa pressed down, encouraging her. Robyn latched onto Elisa's clit, running the tip of her tongue over it in short firm strokes. After a moment, Elisa seemed unable to continue to pleasure Robyn, but the hunter continued ruthlessly until she could feel the detective's body start to shake violently in release.
Robyn gave Elisa just a moment to recover, before flipping them over effortlessly, and moving to straddle Elisa's face. "Suck it detective…" Robyn hissed out, while grabbing Elisa's hair with both hands. "Suck me off." For a moment, she worried that Elisa would take offense to her language… but Elisa's mouth started to work more frantically. Robyn threw her head back and moaned, "Yes… oh God… Yes…." Her voice took on an aggressive quality as she ground her sex into Elisa's mouth. "Do it… I need it… do it…" Robyn's vision faded away as her body shook. It was only Elisa's strong arms that kept her from falling off the bed. She didn't even notice herself screaming out her pleasure.
They laid on the bed next to each other quietly for a moment, before Elisa rolled onto her side and stared down at the blonde. A slightly evil smirk crossed her lips. "I told you not to call me detective." She slid one hand over Robyn's ribs and started to caress the hunter's breasts. The other hand slipped into the pocket of her jacket, which she'd left hanging on the bedpost and pulled out the handcuffs with a wicked grin. "If it's the detective you want to have sex with… things will be a little different."
Lex's eyes widened as he watched the action resume in the bedroom. His loincloth was already soiled from his first release… but he settled back down to watch this. He had no idea Elisa could be like this. He didn't think he'd be able to look her in the face after tonight, but her face wasn't what he was watching now.
Robyn's eyes widened and her heart hammered as she felt the familiar coolness of handcuff's clamp around her wrists. When she looked into Elisa's eyes, she was worried that she was being arrested again. What did she do? Elisa had been looking at her with a cold impersonal look in her eyes, but that softened. "No, Robyn, I'm just playing. Are you okay with that?"
Elisa felt bad for the look of panic that crossed Robyn's face when she cuffed her to the bed frame. She'd completely forgot that Robyn would have bad memories of handcuffs. She watched with some concern as Robyn seemed to calm down, and then the typical superior smile graced the blondes lips. "Detective… are you going to need to search me, because as you can see I have no hidden weapons." Elisa smirked. The game was on.
Elisa let her eyes slowly travel up Robyn's body before they rested on the hunter's face. "Standard procedure… you know the drill." Elisa bent down to whisper seductively, "spread em"
Once Robyn complied, acting submissively, but Elisa could see in Robyn's eyes that is was just an act, Elisa ran her fingers along the hunter's sex, before very slowly pushing her fingers inside. The gasp that escaped Robyn's lips as she stretched out the tight sex, fueled Elisa's desire. It was like she hadn't even had her release. Her need was just as strong as before. She slowly moved her fingers in and out of Robyn while watching the woman try not to squirm in her pleasure. The cuffs would make moving like that uncomfortable.
"Fuck me harder, Detective." Robyn pleaded breathlessly. Elisa could hear the accent finally leaking through, and she moved to fulfill Robyn's desire. That accent was so sexy, she wished Robyn didn't feel the need to cover it up. "Dinna stop… Dinna stop… please, harder." Elisa continued and Robyn's back arched off the bed as the blonde keened loudly, before collapsing back onto the bedspread. Elisa slowly pulled her wet fingers from Robyn's sex, and crawled over Robyn's body, so that she could feel the hunter's smooth skin against her own while she fished out the keys to release her "prisoner".
Robyn gently took the handcuffs from Elisa's fingers and looked into her lover's eyes. "Can I?" She'd understand if the police officer didn't trust her, but… the idea of Elisa spread out on the bed and helpless was so hot. She could see the moment of suspicion and doubt, but then Elisa's head nodded quietly, giving the permission. Robyn gently put the handcuffs on, stringing them through the bed frame so that Elisa was pinned to the bed. She smiled down wickedly at the detective. Elisa liked to play fun games.
Lex's body tensed up when Elisa allowed that hunter to restrain her. He was suddenly worried for his friend. His erection withered as he tensed up, ready for foul play. He wished he could hear what was being said.
Elisa felt her pulse quicken as she looked up into the blue eyes staring down at her. A moan escaped her lips… it was so hot… knowing that Robyn was dangerous, was making her almost whimper with desire. She liked a little danger, that was something she never admitted to… but now, with Robyn… she could explore that part of herself. Robyn's voice was seductive and slow. Sadly the accent was gone. "I caught myself a detective. Let's see how you like the chains my dear."
Lex couldn't be caught on Elisa's doorstep come dawn, and that was only a half hour away. He looked into the women still pleasuring each other, and decided that if Robyn was a threat, she would have done something by now. The handcuffs had been abandoned hours ago, so he awkwardly moved to the edge of the building to leap off and glide for home. Elisa had seemed far too comfortable cheating on the leader of the clan, and he didn't want to get involved. Elisa would tell Goliath, she wasn't that bad… she'd admit to it. Lex didn't have to get involved.
Elisa's Chapter 2 – Day
After
Elisa woke up to find her head resting on Robyn's chest. Without moving she was able to stare at the firm breasts of the hunter, and she slowly trailed a hand up to caress one of them. Her body ached a bit, but it was a nice pleasant ache. The sunlight shown into the bedroom brightly, looking more like a spring day than late fall.
"Still early." Robyn moaned out tiredly, startling Elisa, who had thought she was playing with a sleeping woman. They'd been at it all night, finally stopping at dawn to rest. It was the strangeness of having someone sleeping in her bed that had Elisa waking up so shortly after falling asleep.
Elisa's voice took on a teasing purr, "So you aren't up for more?" She moved to lean on her elbows and stare down at Robyn's face, and into those beautiful blue eyes. So what if this was a spell, she'd deal with that later. She'd long since given up trying to fight it. Elisa leaned down to kiss Robyn tenderly on the lips. "Shame… I thought you would last longer than that."
A slow wicked grin crossed Robyn's lips at that challenge. "Ye aren't sated yet?! Are ye part succubus?"
"I love your accent." Elisa smiled gently at Robyn. "It is so sexy."
Robyn's face became more serious, "It also makes me stick out too much." The accent was gone again. Elisa could see a look of hurt in Robyn's eyes briefly, and she wondered when Robyn had lowered her masks with Elisa. "We were always taught to try and blend in."
"Being a hunter… it's hard, isn't it?" Elisa started to caress Robyn's ribs as she waited for the answer. She'd never really considered how living that life would feel. She'd always been just so upset at the threat the hunter's posed… that she'd never considered what it was like to be them.
"We start our training very young. Shortly after we learn how to walk well enough." Robyn sighed. "I really don't feel like talking about this now." This conversation was reminding her of the betrayal of her brother, and she wanted to just enjoy the feel of the woman in the bed with her.
"Okay." Elisa snuggled closer, and tried to fall back to sleep.
Robyn's even breathing let Elisa know that at least the hunter was able to sleep. Elisa was beginning to worry about what the day would bring. What was that spell, and what all was it responsible for. She had to admit that she'd been attracted to Robyn before, but she would never have acted on it… would she?
Elisa was almost asleep when she heard the knock on the front door. She got out of bed quickly, wanting to stop that noise before is woke Robyn. At least one of them should get to sleep. She threw on her robe and headed for the door. When she saw her and Robyn's shirts and bras her eyes widened and she started to move more quickly. She grabbed them and uncovered her phone, which was off the hook. She put that back in the cradle and went to toss the clothes back in the bedroom, quietly. She kicked a few of Robyn's buttons under the couch, and went to answer the door, feeling very self conscious about those buttons. She knew that she didn't get them all.
When she peaked through the peak hole, she was surprised to see Beth. Once she unlocked the series of locks and opened the door, her eyes widened is shock as Beth burst into tears. She hurried her sister inside and pulled her into a hug, wondering what could have upset Beth so badly. Beth wasn't able to talk yet, so she dragged her to the couch and waited.
Elisa slipped back into the bedroom, and as soon as the door closed she put her hand over her mouth. She felt sick, but she was careful to not let Beth see that. Her sister thinks that she raped their sister-in-law! Elisa just stood there, staring blankly at the open window, out onto the balcony.
"What is it?" Robyn's concerned voice startled Elisa out of her trance. She turned her troubled brown eyes to the blonde woman in her own bed only because of that spell.
Elisa took a few steps into the room and sat on the bed next to Robyn. "I have a family emergency to deal with. I need to go… but you are welcome to stay here and sleep." Elisa was sitting stiffly, and biting her tongue to stop herself from crying. Beth was a mess, a complete mess. It really hurt to see her sister like that. She couldn't even imagine the pain Beth must be going through… or Maggie.
Robyn could see that Elisa was barely holding on. Did someone die? She sat up and pulled Elisa into a hug, and became more concerned when the normally strong woman clung to her for a while. "Do you want me to go with you?" Robyn still had no idea what Elisa was upset about
"No… no that's okay." Elisa's quick answer was expected. Elisa pulled away from the hug and Robyn recognized that Elisa was putting her walls back up. "I… I do need to talk to you later though. You will stay?"
"Sure." Robyn gave a weak smile, "I don't really have anywhere else to go."
Robyn watched as Elisa got dressed, but it was Elisa's body language, her face, and her eyes that she was really watching. The woman seemed to be gearing herself up for battle. It was something that Robyn was very familiar with, but she'd never seen someone other than her family in the process of doing that. By the time Elisa was ready to go, there was none of the vulnerability that she'd shown Robyn. She'd managed to hide it all.
After the front doors closed Robyn got up and went to shower. She wasn't feeling like sleeping anymore. She smiled at the shirt that Elisa had ruined. She would have to borrow something of Elisa's.
Elisa walked into the Xanatos' breakfast scene tensely. Once her eyes fell onto Owen they narrowed in anger. His magic did this to them… to Beth, and she wanted answers to why he thought it would be amusing for him to play with them like that. She still couldn't let Beth know that Owen was Puck, so she was going to have to leave Beth alone until she got her answers. "I need to talk to you in private." She hissed at the blonde Fey that had caused all of this misery.
"Of course Detective." Owen's cool acceptance of the request irritated her. She followed him out the room and into his office. As soon as the door closed she turned venomous eyes to Owen.
"What kind of a sick spell did you do to us!" Elisa demanded angrily, while almost snarling at him. She noticed he looked surprised for a moment, before he covered it up.
"You think you are under some sort of spell?" Owen spoke crisply, like normal, but Elisa was beginning to think that she had the wrong man. "What did it do?"
Elisa clenched her teeth and moved around the desk to stare out the window, over the waking city. "You don't know anything about this, do you?"
Owen moved to stand beside her, so she turned to face him. If he didn't do this, then who did? Was this a new threat? "It was some sort of lust spell." Elisa fought the blush that wanted to come over her face. This was a serious matter, and her own personal desire to keep what happened with Robyn to herself was going to have to be brushed aside. "It seemed to transfer through touch. I had a lover last night." Elisa glanced at the office door, as if seeing Beth's sad eyes. "Beth was caught in it too. She… dammit!" Elisa turned to stare out the window again to gather her thoughts. "Who could have done this to us if it wasn't you?"
"I…" Owen took a step towards the desk. "need to call Fox in here. We might be able to sort out what this spell did."
"You know something, don't you?!" Elisa's eyes became hard again as she looked at him.
Owen seemed unruffled by her hostility, "I suspect something, but we need to check and see what the spell did… and see if we need to reverse it or not."
Elisa tried to get Owen to talk, but he was being remarkably tight lipped while they waited for Fox. The redhead came into the office dressed, but it was obvious that they'd interrupted her before she could do her hair. It was a bit wild, like she'd… Elisa stared at Fox for the first time since she got there. Her hair… and the tired look in her eyes made her think that Fox didn't get any sleep last night either. How far reaching was this spell? Or did David do that? Elisa tried to remember seeing David at the table eating breakfast. She could have sworn that he was well rested.
"Elisa." Fox smiled at her. Elisa's relationship with the ex-pack member had improved considerably since the birth of Fox's son, but she still didn't feel very comfortable with what Owen thought she had to reveal to Fox. Fox turned to Owen and was suddenly all business, "What's going on?"
"It seems the Maza's had a spell cast on them yesterday." Owen spoke, but Elisa was watching Fox. She caught the slight paling of the redhead's skin, and the concern in her eyes.
"What did it do?" Fox's voice had lost it's normal confident edge.
Elisa spent the time to explain in more detail than she felt comfortable with how the spell affected her. She talked about the undeniable hunger, and the green glowing eyes. She told them about Robyn. All the while she talked she watched Fox, and could see the slight tremble of the millionaires hands. It was starting to make sense to Elisa.
"You did this didn’t you?" Elisa's voice was harsh as she spoke to Fox. She had no idea that Fox's magic had gotten that strong, but the guilty look that was Fox's only response told her it had. "Why were you casting spells on us?!" Elisa took a step closer to Fox, her voice raising.
Fox spoke quickly, "I wasn't… I don't know how it ended up…" Fox took a deep breath and her voice regained it's normal register, rather than the more high pitched tone it had taken. "I was trying to make flowers grow… that was all I was trying to do. To make the flowers grow together, and make new types of flowers. I don't know how this happened."
"We should check and see what the spell did, and if it has dissipated." Owen's calm voice cut through the tension in the room.
Elisa stayed laying on the couch after the spell Fox and Owen had used to find out what happened. She felt a little like she had motion sickness, and needed to rest. Fox had left for a moment, and Owen was getting her some aspirin. Apparently this spell wasn't supposed to be quite this sickening for her either, and after Fox had botched it a bit, she'd fled. Elisa almost felt bad for Fox then… almost. Owen seemed to think they had the information they needed though, so this sick feeling wasn't for nothing.
Fox didn't come back, but since Elisa was feeling well enough to sit up, Owen started to talk. "It looks like it was a spell to attract women together, and it only lasted until dawns light… so we won't need to do a counter spell." Owen took a deep breath and continued talking, "You were right, it was transmitted through touch." Owen started to shake his head, "The amount of magic needed to do a spell like this… is really more than I thought her capable of, even on Halloween."
Elisa was relieved that the spell was gone, but… she'd been cuddling and kissing Robyn since dawn. She shook those worries out of her mind and stood up. She needed to get Beth, and hopefully explain to Maggie what had happened.
Elisa stepped outside and noticed Fox staring at the empty place that Angela should be. Elisa's eyes widened at that. Angela hadn't made it home? Elisa had infected her with that spell. Fox spoke in a sort of monotone. She must have heard Elisa moved to stand beside her, "Angela called before dawn. We don't know where she is, but she said she was okay." Elisa watched as Fox took a deep breath, "I… hope she really is okay." They stood in silence, while Elisa tried to think of what to say. Fox continued talking after a moment. "I had a lover last night too. I didn’t know that my magic…" A tear fell down Fox's face. "My magic fucked everyone last night! I don't know what to do… what to say." Elisa watched the normally strong woman as she seemed to be falling apart. "I'm sorry just isn't good enough." Fox finally turned to face the detective and Elisa's eyes widened at the angry red hand print on Fox's other cheek.
"What happened to your face?" Elisa could make out the shape. It was a female's handprint, and it was going to be there a while.
"Beth… said she was leaving. She wanted me to tell you." Fox took a deep breath and brushed the tears off of her cheeks. "I told her about the spell. I thought it might make her feel a little better."
Elisa wasn't listening anymore, she turned to try and catch up to her sister. Beth was in no shape to be alone right now!
Elisa drove with one hand on the steering wheel and the other holding her cell phone to her ear. When her mother's voice mail picked up she hung it up, and tried another number. On the third ring it was answered, "Hello."
"Maria, I need to talk to my mother."
Elisa could sense her captain's cautiousness, and suddenly her mother's "secret trysts" with Maria were ridiculous. "Look she's been divorced over a year, and we all know you two are dating. It's great, we're happy for you… but I really need to talk to her now." She didn't want Maria to pretend her mother wasn't there.
It was just a moment later that Diane Maza's voice carried over the phone. "Elisa? What's wrong?"
"Mom." Elisa took a deep breath. "You need to go home. I need your help… and it's one of those things that Maria can't know about."
"I see." Diane spoke softly, making Elisa think that Maria wasn't in the room with her mother right then. "I'll be there soon." At the click on the other side, Elisa gave a weak smile. Her mother was getting a lot better and waiting to ask questions. If Beth and Maggie were at the house, there really should be two people to talk to them… one on one.
Elisa drove two more blocks before her cell phone rang again. As soon as she picked up her mother's voice started to talk, "I'm driving, do you want to tell me what is going on?" Elisa sighed… maybe her mother wasn't that much better. This wasn't a conversation to have while driving.
"No one is dead… but we have a problem." Elisa didn’t want to give too much away until they got to the house. "Look, just meet me there. I can't really talk about this on the road."
Elisa pulled up to the house and parked her car. She noticed her mother pull in behind her. She took a moment to warn her about what had happened, and what they might be walking into. Beth was probably begging for forgiveness. Diane started to march towards the door, and Elisa could see the determination to deal with this in her mother's stiffness.
Diane was worried about both her "daughters" because she'd adopted Maggie as her own years ago. Diane had been filling in for Maggie's mother, since that woman wasn't able to deal with the changes Maggie had gone through, and had refused to claim "the monster" as her own daughter.
Elisa felt like screaming. Beth hadn't been home, and it looked like she'd left town. Elisa tried to make it to the airport, to try and get her sister to stay so that things could be straightened out, while Diane waited at home for Maggie to wake up. She'd gotten there twenty minutes after Beth's plane took off.
She parked her car and just sat there for a moment. She had her own problems as well. She glanced up at her apartment window, and noticed that Robyn had opened the shades. She just sat there, trying to figure out how to tell Robyn about this spell. She had no idea how the hunter would respond to knowing that their lovemaking had been… induced.
The spell ended at dawn. Elisa glanced back up at the window again. Robyn hadn't pulled away at that point, like Maggie had with Beth. And she hadn't pulled away from Robyn. Elisa put her hands her head and leaned on the steering wheel. She was with Goliath, they'd been together for months now. What was she thinking?
She let herself into the apartment fifteen minutes later, after sitting in her car until she could try and sort out her thoughts. Robyn was sitting on the couch, watching something on TV. Elisa found herself thinking that the blonde looked very good in her jeans and green jersey. She almost never wore that shirt anymore… but it looked much better on the hunter.
"So, do you want to tell me what's wrong." Robyn said flatly. The way that Elisa was looking at her set her on edge. She'd seen day after regret before, but… she felt like Elisa was studying her… and she didn't like that at all. Dammit, she had hoped that Elisa would be glad to see her still here, waiting for her. She'd never done that for any of her previous lovers. She'd always been long gone before things got complicated. She was beginning to think that she shouldn't have strayed from her routine.
"You know about magic, don't you." Elisa set her purse down and moved to sit on the chair across from Robyn.
Robyn's eyes narrowed a bit, "I can't do it… but I know it is real. The Demon's shape shifting is proof enough of that."
"Well, a…" Elisa decided it was best to leave the existence of the Fey out of this, "sorceress in training accidentally cast a spell last night. It…" Elisa stared into the deep blue eyes, "is the reason that we…"
Robyn sat up rigidly. This was unbelievable! "I've heard some pathetic brush offs… I've given most of them, but this is the sickest…" She was baring her teeth, her eyes flashing with anger to cover up her hurt.
Elisa leaned forward quickly, "No… that isn't it." She spoke quickly, suddenly realizing how that sounded. "The magic really happened. It was a lust spell of some sort." She could see Robyn was still tense, so she got up and sat next to her on the couch. Her voice softened, "What we had… was amazing, but I had to tell you…" She felt a wave of tenderness that she couldn't explain. The spell was gone, but she still felt the urge to caress the blonde woman. It was an urge she clamped down on hard.
Robyn's voice was all business, "When was this spell cast? How do you know it really exists?" Part of her was beginning to believe the unbelievable story. She had chalked up her unquenchable hunger last night to the fact that it had been years since she'd been with a lover, but it had been intense.
"Last night… I passed it onto you when we touched." Elisa felt like she was telling Robyn she'd given her an STD or something. She felt embarrassed, and partly responsible for getting the blonde messed up in this. If this gave her guilt, she couldn't imagine the pain she would have felt if Robyn had reacted like Maggie had. She'd been lucky, really lucky that it was Robyn she found last night. It had almost been Angela.
Robyn sat quietly. It was a spell that made the detective want her, and that made her feel a strange sort of emptiness. She tilted her head down and stared at the floor while she thought. She could remember watching Elisa's reflection in the mirror, and the naked hunger in those brown eyes. She'd wanted Elisa then… before there was any touching. She couldn't say that now, she wasn't going to put herself out there like that. Robyn could get almost any lover she wanted… so why did this one have to be with her just because of a spell? It had been a wonderful evening, the best… Robyn gritted her teeth, there would probably be no repeat performances, no relationship… and she had finally decided she was ready for a relationship. She pulled her hurt and confusion inside, and turned to look at Elisa with her normal mask of superiority and confidence. "Well, you have to admit it was a fun night." She smiled wickedly.
Elisa's eyes widened at how well Robyn was taking this. Her own skin blushed as she nodded quietly, not quite willing to admit that she'd really enjoyed her time with Robyn out loud.
Elisa was surprised when Robyn stood up. "Well, I should really get going. I need to talk with Jason, and figure out what to do about Jon."
Elisa opened her mouth to protest, but closed it before doing that. It would probably be best to make a clean break. To just let her go now. "If you need any help with the Quarrymen or Castaway, you can call me." Elisa stood up and glanced over Robyn's clothes. "You can keep the clothes." She said quietly, knowing that she'd ruined what Robyn had been wearing.
Elisa stood by the door to let Robyn out. She felt like she ought to kiss her goodbye, she wanted to… which was why she didn't. Her eyes widened when Robyn turned to her with a grin and pulled her closer, in front of the open door, to kiss her passionately on the lips. The hunter then turned and left without saying anything. Elisa's hand snaked up to caress her own lips. She… she was going to miss Robyn.
Elisa stared out the window at the blonde getting into the cab, and the fact that this was bothering her so much made her grimace. It was better this way, but she had to admit to herself that it wasn't the spell that had made her follow Robyn into that dance club, or rush out to help her in the alley. She'd always been attracted to Robyn. The fact that she'd only been able to live out that fantasy because of a spell cheapened the entire experience.
Elisa got back into bed to try to get some sleep before tonight. She wanted to be there to make sure that Angela was alright. She was very tired but she just laid in bed staring up at the ceiling. She had no idea how she was going to tell Goliath about this.
Elisa got off the elevator for the second time that day and walked out to the castle walls to stare at her lover. Goliath stood frozen in stone in a fierce warriors pose facing the east. She still had a half hour before the sunset, and she found her heart hammering. This was going to hurt him. She glanced over at Angela's vacated spot.
"We've traced her call. She's at Demona's." Fox said quietly while stepping out of the shadows. She watched Elisa tense up and sighed. "How did things go with Robyn?"
Elisa almost snapped that it wasn't any of Fox's business, but as she turned to say that she noticed that the hand print her sister had put on Fox's face was still there… as well as the deep sadness that had been in Fox's eyes earlier. Elisa realized then how truly regretful Fox was, and that it was an accident. It was horrible, but Fox hadn't meant to hurt anyone. "She took it very well. She had to go though, because Jon is…" Elisa sighed, "Jon is sending his Quarrymen against her. She had to make plans."
"If she needs any help with that, she can come to David or I." Fox spoke a little more quickly, and Elisa could see a spark of the woman that Fox truly was underneath the misery.
"If I see her again, I'll let her know." Elisa said absently. It was an if… she had let Robyn go without getting a phone number, and Robyn was between places to stay, since Jon knew about her hotel room.
They stood in awkward silence for a while, before Fox spoke again. "I should go. I have to explain this to Delilah." Elisa glanced over and could see Fox taking a deep breath. "I… I really liked her… Dammit!" Fox wrapped her arms around her body and turned to leave. Elisa just watched her quietly for a moment before turning back to look at the sun slowly getting ready to set. This was the first time in years that she wasn't looking forward to the sunset.
Once the gargoyles woke up Elisa waited for Goliath to come greet her. She smiled weakly at him. "I need to talk to you…" her voice got softer, "in private."
"Is it about Angela?" Goliath's voice was filled with concern. "Is she okay?"
Elisa took a deep breath, and glanced over at the other gargoyles. Lex looked away quickly, and blushed. That was strange. She tore her eyes away from his odd behavior, "She's fine… let's go into Owen's office." She started to walk in that direction, not wanting him to push for her to tell him what it was about before moving away from the prying eyes.
After she closed the door behind them his eyes softened as he looked at her. "What is wrong?" Elisa took deep breath and began to tell him. She watched his face close off as she talked about the accidental spell. His eyes started to glow white as she mentioned that she'd been with someone else.
"Who was it?!" Goliath growled out, and Elisa felt her heart sink. He was acting like she'd meant to cheat on him. He looked ready to rip someone apart.
"She was caught up in the spell too." Elisa took a deep breath, "Knowing who it was isn't important." She decided at that moment that telling him would put Robyn in danger. He looked violent with his eyes glowing and he was breathing more quickly. His was almost yelling at her. "It was a spell that did that to us… she isn't to blame!"
"Fox did this?!" He growled, and started to head to the door.
Elisa spoke loudly and quickly, "It was an accident! Just like Broadway's shooting me was an accident!" He turned to glare at her, and seeing this anger directed at her hurt. "Fox is very sorry, and… she's suffering enough for this. You don't need to attack her." Elisa had already decided that she was going to forgive the redhead… she hadn't really yet, but she wasn't angry enough to send a rage filled gargoyle after her.
"It's not the same!" Goliath's eyes burned. "You Are Mine!"
Elisa's voice was loud and cold. "I am not property… I am a person, and I don't see where this spell is any worse than Broadway almost killing me! They were both accidents!" Her voice quieted a bit, "I didn't see you ripping Broadway apart for that. We will get over this… Life will continue, but if you continue to act like you own me…" Elisa had a growl to her own voice at that point.
Goliath put his hand up, signaling that he wanted her to stop talking, and that irritated her. "I need time to think about this. I'm going out on patrol" Before Elisa could even try to talk he ripped open the door hard enough to take it off it's hinges and fled. She moved quickly to the doorway, and was at least happy to see he was heading out of the castle, and not to Fox's room.
"Dammit." Elisa stared after him, and decided to let him have his time. The tears finally started to travel down her face, which she wiped away angrily. They had to be able to get over this… or she'd lose him.
She closed the broken door and sat in Owen's office quietly for a while, trying to rein in her emotions before going back out where the others could see her. She didn’t want everyone to know about what had happened. She would have just left, but she needed to see Angela and make sure that the girl was okay. That Angela and her would still be able to be friends after that kiss. At least the female was safely at her mother's. Demona might be a vicious madwoman, but she'd never hurt Angela. The girl wouldn't have to deal with this sort of pain with Broadway… the spell had somehow spared her.
